Or, I should say, my family is. I discovered the awesome benefits of the Low Carb Lifestyle last summer. Yes, it involved Kimkins, and no I am not going to discuss that here, EVER, but suffice it to say, I had a more positive experience and have lost 63 lbs (first 18 was on my own version of what I assumed Atkins is). I intend to lose a little more, perhaps, and firm up, etc., blah, blah, blah. I am faced, though, at this juncture, the prospect of keeping that weight off. Maintaining my losses. Forever. For life. At the same time, I have a family that was not on my "diet" with me and continued eating the same high carb meals I once ate. A huge bulb flashed in my brain--why not convert the entire family over to lower carb??? Why should I insist they eat "normally"--setting them up for the same carb addict issues down the road? Why not teach them this WOE, the WOE I believe is the way to fight obesity? And why not blog about it? There might be many out there facing this dilemma and just don't know where to start. Well, I don't either! But hopefully I can figure it out, through trial and error, over the course of ???? who knows how long and eventually there will be a road map from which others will benefit.

A little family info/bio: I am married, 11 years, with four children ages 2 (b), 4 (g), 6 (g), and 8 (b). My kids are pretty picky at this point, so this endeavor will prove to be a challenge, I am sure, but I feel I am up for the task! One of our major issues in groceries is keeping spending low. It can get expensive to feed 6 of us, and all too often it is easier and cheaper to buy "crap" food than to make it myself. I vow to learn a way to have it both ways. How will I do this? I have no idea!

I have listed at the right some great established Low Carb blogs from which I hope to glean information to prepare me to do this. I have been putting off posting because it is a very overwhelming idea to me: overhauling my family's eating habits WITHOUT them noticing. I want to share the inspiration to finally get my feet wet: Cleochatra's blog post. Her list makes me want to throw out all the white stuff and get to it! Thank you for the post! Here I gooooooooooo.......
